Deacon George's Funeral plans
We were all saddened last week to receive the news that Deacon George passed away surrounded by his wife Nancy and their children. I spoke with Nancy a couple times and she did say that I could share her address: 636 Leslie Lane, Venice, FL 34285. She is finding comfort and peace knowing that he fought the good fight against cancer and from the faith that supported and nurtured their marriage for 56 years! Deacon George served all of his 25 years in active ministry as a permanent deacon here at Holy Cross Parish, preaching and assisting at Mass for the last time the 4th Sunday of Advent in December of 2018. He will be sorely missed and forever remembered as a great storyteller helping us all better understand the Word of God.
Deacon George's Visitation/Wake will be here in church on Thursday, May 6th from 3:00-7:00pm.
Please enter the front doors of the church, sanitize your hands with mask on, and after passing your respects and greeting the family, exit through the side-ramp parking lot door. His funeral will be Friday, May 7th at 10:00am. The funeral will be live-streamed through the parish website. Deacon George's remains will be laid to rest in the National Cemetery on Cape Cod in Bourne, MA. May his soul and the souls of all the faithful departed, rest in peace.
